Tried "Crushed Garnet" on my never-dyed Asian black hair... and was surprised that the colour really showed up! It is also very fade resistant... very shiny in the sun!
I bought this to help with frizz and it works wonders. Usually after my hair dries, my ends are frizzy and frayed looking, I just smoothed this on at the ends and over the top lightly and its shiny, glossy and frizz free!
Review on: Loreal - Tightly Wound curl pumping spray gel
Perfect for scrunching your hair. I suggest using it when your hair is wet. Using it for dry hair may leave it a little sticky and harder to work with. Works amazing when using a blow dryer!
Pros:Awesome, big, curly hair! Cons:May be a little sticky on dry hair.
I got the new Nutrigloss shampoo in a light pink bottle! It's excellent! The bottle says it will make your hairy shiny. I can never get my hair shiny but this shampoo did! The price isn't bad either 3.99. The smell is wonderful!!
Pros:Makes hair shiny and smells great Cons:Not in all stores yet
This is an excellent non irritating shampoo for children as well as adults. It also has fantastic conditioning properties and works very well and effectively as a shower body wash. Highly recommend trying several of the flavors.
Pros:Great shampoo/conditioner/body wash. No additional conditioner needed. Leaves hair very soft, conditioned, and easily untangled (and I have very long, frizzy, wavy, curly, dry A/A biracial hair) Cons:None
In the past year or so my hair has dramatically changed. It used to be very soft and silky with lots of shine, but very little volume. Now its still very soft etc, but the ends are horribly frizzy, regardless of how often I cut it. I have since wanted to try shampoo/conditioner for frizzy har but have been fearful, since I have such little volume to begin with.
About a month ago I found VivePro for Dry frizzy hair that's fine. It is AMAZING. Not only does it smooth my ends, but it actually adds volume! Who Knew!!?? My new regemine includes this shampoo and conditioner along with SUNSILK anti-flat and my hair looks pretty darn great these days!!!
Pros:Super Cheap, Smells great, Broad line ensures everyone will find something Cons:Use sparingly...too much (just like other conditioner) can be well, too muchl.
I have used this hair coloring in several different shades. I like to try out different things for different seasons. It doesn't leave hair looking damaged AT ALL. If anything, my hair looks healther after using this. It's shinier and has more volume after coloring.
The color is very rich and lasts quite a long time. There's a good selection of colors.
Pros:Rich, shiny color, doesn't dry or damage. Cons:
I have a alot of hair, it is dry, thin, color treated and highlighted and naturally wavy/curly. I can blow my hair out straight myself but it takes minimum 30 minutes, so I want a product that keeps it straight. When I use the L'Oreal Studio Line Hot Straight product my hair blows out very straight and shiny and stays straight for days. The best thing is that it is not stringy or limp my hair still has body. The product consistency is like a gel cream. I love this product and I have used many products some at triple the cost that do not work as effectively as this. This is a HG hair product for me.
Pros:Price, pleasant smell, really does straighten hair, prevents hair damage Cons:None.
This is now my HG hair product! This cream claims to protect hair from heat styling, straighten hair, and lock out humidity. You apply it to wet hair, then blowdry, then flat iron if desired.
Now I have never been able to get my hair completely straight with just a blowdryer, and this product doesn't work any better than anything else I've tried. However, when used with my flat iron, I can get my hair super-straight using only a medium heat setting! I have been using Hot Straight every day for a few months now, flat ironing my hair a few days a week, and my hair does not seem to be getting damaged. (It's not normally humid enough in the winter for me to test the "lock out humidity" claim, so I will update this review in the summer!)
However, the big surprise was that Hot Straight is a great anti-frizz product even though it doesn't claim to be! When I try to flat iron my hair without any product, my hair is full of static electricity and fly-aways, and I can barely make the hair stay in the flat iron! But with this product, my hair is silky straight -- my mom was amazed that my hair did not look as frizzy and fly-away as it usually does! Once I even applied this cream in the morning and blow dried my hair, then flat ironed it later that night, and the cream lasted all day and my hair was still frizz-free when I flat ironed it that night! I have thrown away all of my expensive Straight Sexy Hair products after discovering this -- Hot Straight and a bottle of flexible hold hairspray are now the only styling products I need!
At only $3.50 a bottle, this is a product every girl with a flat iron should try!
For reference, I have fine yet thick and naturally wavy hair.
Pros:Straightens hair, protects against heat, gets rid of frizz and static, inexpensive Cons:None!
I usually love this line. I wasn't impressed with this one. Didn't seem to make my color fade less than usual, and my hair didn't feel as clean, like maybe the conditoner was too waxy? Yuck
I love this line of hair color. The one I use is 5 it is "medium brown". The most awesome color, my hair is so so shiny and full of life when I color. It covers really well, and does not fade as quick as most hair colors do.
I highly recommend this line of hair color.
Pros:Perfect color, super shiny, long lasting color. Cons:none
I like my hair to be dark and I usually use a permanent dye. When my color started to fade I looked into demi-permanent dyes reading they would be less harsh. Loreal's add for this product sounded wonderful...color your hair and add moisture. It did not deliver. My hair feels disgusting. I have had bad luck with Loreal dyes before (Feria) that had dried my hair out, but I thought this would be ok since it washes out after 28 washes. I was wrong. I know demi colors just coat the hair but I wasn't expecting it to feel coated, and it does. I'm sticking to Clairol hair dyes from now on. I learned my lesson.
Review on: Loreal - Loreal Natures Therapy Mega Moisture
I don't dig the tub, but I found this to be an average product. The trouble I have with it is sometimes it leaves me with blah hair days and sometimes it leaves me with good ones. I don't find it to be much different than Loreal Vive's mask.
Review on: Loreal - Vive Smooth Intense Conditioner
It is a very light conditioner which does NOT work for damaged
hair.. If you have seriously damaged hair, then do try something better
or more heavy. Its very light and leaves your hair very light. But its
not for seriously damaged/dry hair. My hair is very dry and it doesn't
help much. In fact, the frizz is much more than the normal conditoners
from Clariol that I use. I love loreal products, but this is NOT what i
will recommend. its cheap and comes in a lovely bottle. It says it is
recommended to be used with the shampoo. i also used the smooth intense
shampoo along. no good results :(
I love all the Loreal VIVE conditioners. They leave my hair soft and shiny. I no longer need to use a leave in conditioner to comb my hair after I shampoo and condition it.
Pros:You can get this conditioner at most drug stores and large chain stores. Cons:None
I love all the Loreal VIVE shampoos! They all make my hair so soft and shiny. The Loreal Color VIVE keeps my hair color shiny as well. No more dull auburn color! I use to have to use a leave in conditioner to comb my wet hair out, but with these shampoos, I no longer need the leave in conditioner.
Pros:You can get this shampoo at any drug store or large chain stores. Cons:None
this is one shampoo i've used over and over, but i've left it since finding suave's tropical coconut (which i've reviewed, too). it's a great, basic shampoo. it cleanses well, has a great scent, and lathers so it's easier to get all over my hair and i'm assured it's doing it's job! i love the smell. it's very citrusy, but doesn't linger on unfortunately. it's definitely a good shampoo, but i think suave's better. i won't repurchase.
i've never used this, but my mom has, so i'll review it on what i see/she says!
she's been coloring her hair since forever and never once used a shampoo for colored hair. i never really paid attention until one day she kept complaining about how she just colored her hair and it's already stripped. i came online to read some reviews and since then, she's been through at least 4 bottles of this. i've noticed her hair stays colored longer, as well as truer, and it looks a lot more natural. she said her head doesn't itch (like most shampoos do to her) and it cleanses well. i know she'll repurchase again because she already has!
april '05 review challenge
Pros:cleanses, lathers, keeps color truer longer, scent, price Cons:none
